Stop Working Harder Than You Have To: Automate
Do you ever get tired of answering the same questions over and over again… tired of doing the same repetitive operations on your computer? The solution is a system.
Let’s take email as an example. Can you think of any concepts, processes or advice that you find you need to deliver to your clients over and over again?
Do you have a system for delivering that information or are you spending your time (your only TRUE asset) doing it again and again? Some people would argue that “good service” means that you personally deliver all of the service to your client.
While I would agree in part, I would also say that by committing to personal involvement in each of your interactions with your clients, you are effectively capping your income. Your income will stop growing when you reach your work limit.
Why not “package-up” those concepts, processes or advice and deliver them in an automated way? Why not publish a series of 20 emails that walks your client or prospect through that same explanation… without you delivering it yourself?
The benefits are three fold: you’ve just leveraged yourself (because you can do other things while this system in your business works without you), you’ve helped your client/prospect by communicating with them on their terms… at the time that is right for them AND you’ve guaranteed your service level to your clients for these processes. Your clients will get the same level of service, whether or not you are having a “good” day.
Most of the real estate professionals that I work with have probably somewhere between 10-15 processes like this that could be completely automated.
Always be on the lookout for the activities that you are doing in your business that can be turned into systems that someone else (or something else) can run for you.
