So You've Got All of This Technology... Why Isn't It Working?
Technology is a double edged sword in real estate.
On one hand, technology can help you run circles around your competition by leveraging your ideas, your time and your expertise. You can get more done in less time.
On the other hand, it can also be little more than a diversion that keeps you busy enough that you completely ignore the bigger problems in your business.
That’s the reason that most real estate websites don’t work.
Because a website can’t fix a business problem.
Autoresponders can’t fix a business problem.
The best marketing in the world can make a business problem a bit less noticeable, but even that can’t fix it.
The truth is that most technologies like websites and autoresponders and blogs actually magnify business and marketing problems.
You’ve got to fix those first.
What’s the number one business problem in the Realtor® community?
I don’t think it is the “bubble.”
I don’t think it is sagging demand.
I don’t think it is increased competition.
I think that the number one challenge in real estate is answering this question that your market is asking:
“Why should I do business with you?”
If you can answer that question in a compelling way in the eyes of your prospects, you will be successful, online and offline.
Without that answer, all of the technology in the world isn’t going to help you.
That is my goal for my clients: to get to that answer. It makes everything easier. And it makes using technology like websites, press releases, blogs, pay-per-click, seo a whole lot more effective.
So what’s your answer?
“Why should anyone do business with you?”
