Google SMS: Never be left in the lurch...
When’s the last time you were out with a buyer who asked you a question like “What restaurants are in this area?”
There are a lot of software packages out there that can tell you this type of thing, but what if all you have is your cell phone?
Next time you are out and about and need some quick local info, try Google SMS, which allows you to get virtually instant information delivered to your cell phone.
If your cell phone is capable of sending a text message, then Google’s free SMS service will be an excellent addition to your tech arsenal.
The whole process is really simple.
There are only two steps.
1. Send a text message to Google (46645 or GOOGL on most phones) with your question.
2. Get your answer (usually in 60 seconds or less).
As a test, I sent Google an SMS with the following text:
Nolis pizza.
(Nolis is one of the very few places in Chicago that knows anything about New York pizza.)
Within 30 seconds I had my answer:
Noli’s New York Style Pizza
4839 N Kedzie Avenue
Chicago, IL 60625-5206
773-588-0400
I tried the same thing pretending I didn’t know anything about my area except the zip code. The text message I sent was this:
pizza 60625
Again, Noli’s information popped up (in less than 15 seconds)
Google SMS has a ton of applications for your real estate business and is only limited by your creativity.
